The County Roscommon Heritage and Genealogy Centre has been offering a research service to people with Roscommon Roots since 1988. They are the official genealogy research Centre for County Roscommon, and the designated centre of the Irish Family History Foundation. They provide a professional genealogy research service, and each enquiry is individually researched by one of the experienced researchers, who have in-depth knowledge of the County and the sources for each area.

Success of an application depends on the availability of records and the quality of the information provided. It is always advisable to gather as much information as possible prior to initiating a research request, as fees are non-refundable. The Centre is non-profit making and all fees go the upkeep of our services.
Genealogical research takes time, and from it can take up to twelve weeks to complete a search, and seasonal demand may increase this waiting period. It is advisable to initiate your research in good time, and well in advance of any visit to Roscommon.
